In the late '80's, Mudhoney formed as a sort of Seattle punk supergroup with former members of Green River and Melvins. Promptly signed to Sub Pop, their Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge was the label's best selling album until Nirvana's Bleach overcame it (though that wasn’t until they blew up). For more than 30 years, they've done things their way, inspired legions of imitators, and never stopped sneering at the sanctimonious - or anyone that takes themselves too seriously.
